To research his books, Sean has trained as a bodyguard with former members of the British Royal Military Police's elite Close Protection Unit, spent time inside Pelican Bay Supermax prison in California, undertaken desert survival training, and most recently, ventured deep into the tunnels under Las Vegas.
His first novel, Lockdown, sold after a fiercely contested auction between four major publishers, and went on to be named as one of the London Daily Telegraph's Thrillers of the Year. Both Lockdown, and the second book in the series, Deadlock, crashed into the UK's Official Top 50 Bestsellers' List during their first week on sale - a rare feat for a new writer. The books are also available in Dutch, German, and Russian.
A graduate of Columbia University in New York, and Oxford University, England, Sean splits his time between the United States and his adopted home of Ireland.
